How-to: Connect Moto phones to PC successfully via USB

      Guys,Smart phones work best when they go hand-in-hand with your PC.. whether its copying videos or music files, or transferring your important documents from your PC to phone or syncing your device settings. For our Moto G, connecting to a PC is very very important for the purpose of backing up the photos and videos you have captured as we don't have an SD card slot.

NOTE: This post is made for Motorola Moto phones (Moto G, Moto E, Moto X). The device used  here is a Moto G..

      A lot of Moto G owners are facing the issue that they can't transfer the data because their Moto G is not connecting to the PC. So, here I will tell you a step by step procedure for connecting your Moto G to PC via USB.

You will need:

  1. Moto G
  2. Computer {running on Windows XP or higher(Windows 7 preferred),Mac}
  3. Working USB cable

Download:
  Motorola Device Manager for Windows                                 Motorola Device Manager for Mac
  (Windows XP SP3 or higher)                                               (Mac OS 10.5.8 or Higher)
       Size:32 MB                                                                            Installer Size: 12.6

Steps:
  • Download & Install the Motorola Device Manager software for your PC.
  • Go to Settings > Storage > Touch 3-dots at the top-right corner and select USB computer connection.
  • Now tick on Media Device (MTP) and leave camera (PTP) unticked.
  • Now connect your USB cable first to the phone and then to the PC.
  • Wait for a minute or two for drivers to install.
  • Now the phone should be connected to the PC.
         Remember, Since our Moto G cannot act as Mass storage device so you will not see the Moto G under "Removable Storage".
