Hello guys, In India we have seen the snail's speed of 2G connection.. In my phone 2G speeds rarely cross 30 KBps and due to 3G prices getting cheaper, most of us prefer to recharge 3G. In last few days I have seen many users commenting that they can't use 3G even if they have set it to 3G mode in their Motorola phones (Moto G, Moto E, Moto X) by following these steps:
Settings > More...(under Wireless & Networks) > Mobile Networks > Preferred network type > 3G.
Actually the 3G mode selected by the above steps is "WCDMA (3G) preferred" which results in switching to 2G mode when we have weak 3G signal strength. I too faced this problem for first few days till I got the solution.
For enabling 3G only mode follow these steps:
Firstly we need to define in which SIM we want to enable 3G. For this go to-
Settings > Dual SIM settings > Mobile Data > choose the desired SIM.
Now,
- Open your Phone (Dialler) app{the one which you open while dialling a number}.
- Enter this code: *#*#4636#*#*
- An app known as "Testing" will be launched.
- Touch the first option "Phone information".Don't touch other options.
- You will notice a drop-down option above "turn off Radio" button. Tap on it.
- Select the third option "WCDMA Only". Wait for a while...
- You will see that network has changed to 3G mode in the notification bar. If network doesn't change, touch the "turn off Radio" button. you will see your phone's signal are lost. Now again turn it on by tapping on the same button.
CAUTION: Inside the 'Testing' app, don't touch the other settings unless you are sure about them or you will land up in trouble.
TIP: If you think remembering or dialling the code is difficult, then you can download the "Phone Testing" app from Play Store. It directly opens the "testing" options in 1 tap.
The device which I have used here is Moto G (1st Gen).

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have followed all the above steps and finally that E icons has changed to H+ doesnt change.wen am tap the turna of ratio and wcdma prepared that shows network strength the after wen am tap wcdma only that time no network strength please sugget me..
awaiting for your replay
bro.. this is because there is no 3G signal present in that location.. WCDMA preferred means that if you have 3g signals then the phone will pick 3g signals instead of 2g.. but if there is no 3g signal then it will take 2g... thats why WCDMA only fives no signal. Try using any other operator.
Deletesir,
Deletewen am choosing WCDMA that time have network signal and not showing 3g or 2g singal..and also wen am choose WCDMA only that time no signal strength..and also asking SMSC ____Update Refresh.
please suggest me..
bro..
Deleteawaiting for your replay..
